Anemia

Anemia happens when our body does not have the adequate amount of oxygen because our bone marrow produces too little healthy red blood cells. Anemia can be caused by several factors that include a malfunctioned bone marrow, the lack of iron and folic acid in our body, serious loss of blood, and infections like malaria.

Heavy blood loss, usually caused by diseases, can also cause iron deficiency in our system. Coeliac diseases that mess up our digestion system can also cause the inability of our stomach to absorb the iron that we take in. Not to mentioned lengthy treatments that include aspirin and similar drugs can also cause hemorrhage to our stomach.

Symptoms of anemia include tired spells, palpitations, dizzy spell and shortness of breath. In more serious cases, the person may experience chest, head and leg pain. Continuing anemia can cause a lot of effects to the patients like a burning sensation in the tongue, sores and dryness in the mouth, sensitive to touch, pain in swallowing, and fragile hair.

The most common cause of Anemia is the lack of iron in our body which will lead to the insufficiency of hemoglobin to our red cells. This can be rectified by taking food or supplements that will increase the iron rate in our body. We can change our diet to eating fruit, whole meal bread, beans and also lean meat. If changing our diet or taking supplements do not help, we can then resort to blood transfusion to help restore the iron in our system.
