Arthritis

Arthritis is an ailment that affects young and old alike. It is essentially a collection of conditions that result in damage to joints within the body. It frequently involves the wrists, elbows, knees, shoulders and ankles. There are more than 200 variations of arthritis.

The first and the most common form is osteoarthritis, which is caused by damage to the protective tissue in our joints. People with osteoarthritis don’t usually experience symptoms apart from achy joints in the early phase. Long time sufferers will experience painful and swollen joints, and if they remain immobilized for a period of time, their joints may become stiffened.

The next condition is rheumatoid arthritis - an auto-immune disease caused by the swelling of the joints, which can also affect other organs in the body. The symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include tender, rigid and inflamed joints for a period of time. In more serious cases, it can cause disability.

Natural treatments for arthritis include good diet and exercises. There are some who have tries physical therapies and alternative medicines like acupuncture to help to cure this ailment. Modern medicine options will include drugs and surgeries as treatment for arthritis.
